One of my favorite restautants. They have a cheddar ale soup which equals the best I've eaten.

Imagine how I jumped when I opened my car door without seeing this bird on my mirror! He had been sitting in our driveway and we didn't know if he was sick, injured or stunned. When my husband tried to pick him up to put him outside, he did fly, but we moved him outside into the grass. When I came home later he had flown away.

The Atlantis Submarine in Lahaina, Maui. I do not go into water past my knees, so this was my way of snorkeling/scuba diving in Hawaii!

I can't believe:
1) I did this.
2) I let somebody take my picture. (I don't look too happy about it.)
3) I'm posting it on the web.
This was practicing the hula for the trip to Hawaii for our son's wedding on Saturday, so, again, I will not be posting while I'm gone-only a week this time. Hopefully, since this is the last planned trip, I can be a better blogger when I'm home.

The only flowers I have in my garden this summer and these came up from seed from last year. I miss having more, but since I was going to be gone so much I knew they wouldn't get watered.

We just received word that the Delta Queen will no longer be sailing the US waterways after November, 2008. The Water Safety Laws forbid boats with wooden superstructures on the US waterways. As the entire superstructure of the Delta Queen is wood and it is on the National Historical Register, it was granted a waiver for many years. This waiver expires next year and Congress has decided not to introduce it again. What a lost legacy! L
